I can really use your prayers. I am just realizing that I have been drinking too much and I am worried that it may become a problem. I ask that you please pray for me to give drinking a break. Also, I just got a call from the wife and our washer hose let go causing water to go all over the basement. I am already in the office and cannot clean up and try and fix the issue until I get home. I need your prayers. I suffer from severe depression and anxiety, (I take medication) I am a new dad and just exhausted. Please pray for me.

Father God, we come before you and we lift mkipp up to You. Bless him today in his need. Help him to get the help he needs with his drinking as You relieve his craving. Heal his anxiety and depression, Lord, and give him the rest he needs. Thank you, Heavenly Father, for hearing and answering us. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

I know what it is to struggle with anxiety and lack of sleep. I hope you experience all the blessings God has in store for you.

MKPP, I will keep you in my prayers each day. My husband is an alcoholic who has 18 years of sobriety now, through the grace of God and the Alcoholics Anonymous program which has been invaluable to him. I am not saying you are or are not alcoholic, but if you find that you are unable to sucessfully control drinking to excess, that could be a warning sign and there is no shame in this as Alcoholism is a disease and not a choice.

Additionally, it is very dangerous to take medication for depression and also drink alcohol. You may want to discuss this matter with your doctor to be safe. May God bless you and hold you close as you struggle with life issues. Congratulations on being a new dad. You will be able to get a good nights sleep sometime soon! 👍

I will pray for God to give you strength, hope, and guidance. God Bless.

Trust in the Lord with all thine heart, and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct thy paths. – Proverbs 3:5-6

I will say a prayer for you at the hour of Divine Mercy, 3PM.

Also, as a guy who drank excessively in the past, I firmly believe only Christ can free someone from any type of addiction. Ask Christ daily to help you with this problem. I also believe the Rosary is the most powerful prayer which could help you, too.

I have let stress and personal failings occupy my mind. I get down on myself and think that I am not good enough for anyone. I have an amazing wife and daughter and want to be the best husband/father I can be. Thank you for the prayers I need them. God Bless.

Our Father, who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done on earth as it is in Heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Dear Lord, please hear our prayers for mkipp, our brother, and strengthen him in your merciful power.

May you pick up and read a chapter in the bible every time you want to pick up a drink. May our Lord help you to be strong in faith, hope and love and grant you the graces you need to be a good husband and father. May you meet with a good, holy priest for spiritual guidance and support through your problem with depression and anxiety. Amen.

Depression (and medication) and alcohol are a terrible mixture. Ask God for help to stop drinking - join AA. It might not be enough to give drinking “a break”, you may need to give it up altogether.

Mary please help.

Hail Mary, full of grace,
the Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou
among women, and blessed
is the fruit of thy womb,
Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God,
pray for us sinners, now
and at the hour of our death.
Amen.

I am keeping you in my prayers.

I appreciate all the prayers and I can use more. I think that alcohol was not necessarily an addiction but was becoming too much a part of a nightly routine. Being a working father, husband, homeowner, is just exhausting. My wife and I have so many blessings, I just want to keep that as my priority and in my sight at all times. It seems that 8 months into being a father stress and exhaustion has caught up to me. I wish that I had close Catholic friends, but that is something that I should pray to happen as I feel alone with my faith a lot. I am new to the area that we live and meeting people is something that I am not good at. Just thought that I would update my feelings of myself today. God Bless you all and thanks for the prayers.

Hey mkipp! I am happy to pray for you. I formally adopt you as one of my spiritual children, and I will be praying for you now for the rest of my life! I come from a long-lived family, so that will probably be a good, long time 🙂

Life is full of twists and turns. I know God is there beside you always; I think you know that, too. But, prayer is a most powerful instrument in the battles we all face. So, you have mine, for always. God bless!
