Please pray for me: ongoing academic struggles

Hi everyone,

Could you please keep me in your prayers during this difficult time in my life? I continue to face ongoing academic challenges which makes me doubt whether the vocational path I’m currently on is indeed God’s will for me. Please pray that His will be done.

And do you, O’ Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God thrust into Hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.

Prayer for One’s Vocation

Eternal Father, I believe in Your infinite wisdom and love. I believe that You have created me for heaven, that You have traced for me the way with all the necessary graces to arrive at it, and that there You await me for the eternal reward of a faithful servant.

I beseech You, through the merits of Jesus Christ my divine Master, and through Mary, Queen of Apostles, enlighten my mind and strengthen my will that I may clearly see this way and generously tread along this path.

Help me so that at the moment of death I may be able to say as St. Paul did: “I have finished my course, I have fought the good fight; for the rest there is laid up for me a crown of justice.” Amen.
 
Of course you have my prayers. I have to wonder exactly what your academic struggles are. Does this mean math and science overwhelm you? Do you suffer from test anxiety, or have trouble knowing how to study effectively?

There are many things that can make academics hard on a person, including unconscious desires to do something else, learning difficulties and just old disinterest. If you have not tried to seek help at the college for this please do. Most have centers to address these issues and to help students discern different options. Hang in there and don’t let things get you down. You are not alone. You just might need a little help seeing a different route.

Praying that the Lord may strengthen you and guide you. Also praying for all necessary graces for you.

O Blood and Water, which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a fountain of Mercy for us, I trust in You!

Hi everybody,

Thank you so much for your prayers. To give you a bit more information, I am a medical student. I have been engaged in a lot of prayer and discernment over the last week and I feel called by God to continue down this path. This is my cross to carry and I pray that I find joy and strength among my suffering. And yes, I say suffering because, for various reasons that I won’t get into, there have been a lot of elements and people “against” me, placing doubts/fears/etc in my head. But I choose hope and faith over fear. Please keep me in your prayers especially tomorrow when I will learn whether I will be given the opportunity to continue down this vocational path.

May His will be done in my life.

Dear Lord, give this student the strength to persevere if it be Your will. Place the desire in their heart to push onward, even if the path is difficult.
