Hello,

I was first describing a situation where I might’ve mortally sinned, but I deleted this section.

This was originally meant to go in the casual discussion section, but I’m going to put it in the prayer section, because I really need some prayers. I don’t know for what exactly: scrupulosity, maybe being in a state of mortal sin, or because I need to find peace. I think almost everyday about sin, and the whole coronavirus situation isn’t helping either with my overthinking. I haven’t been to mass or confession in a month and half and I need to focus on my studies since I have finals in 2 weeks, but I think that overthinking takes a lot of my energy.

I’m also worrying about how long my next confession will be, since I have a list of sins to confess, since I tend to put maybe too much detail (it feels like I’m not being honest if I leave out certains details, because I’m not sure if they count as details that might aggravate the sin)

Thank you for you prayers

you could do what I did a couple days ago:

A general Confession. Write down all your sins prior to confession for your whole life, make an appointment with a priest and ask for a general confession, tell him you are short on time, and then read them all off and end with “-and for all the sins I cannot recall”.

Then start going to mass every weekend, being a devout Catholic, and amending your life.

(To help with your list, I usually organize it by the 10 Commandments, then 7 deadly sins for anything you miss, then anything miscellaneous)

I already go to mass every weekend (or used to) and the reason I haven’t been to confession and mass for that long is because all public celebrations are cancelled, because of coronavirus.

As for general confession, that is a good idea, but I don’t know if I’ll be able to have an appointment with the priest before going to mass, so I might’ve to go to confession without an appointment, which is a little stressful. I could try to organize my list better like you said, and I intend on doing that when i know that I’ll be able to go to confession.

oh,

well yeah everyone gets a dispensation for this period from going to mass. As for the Confession, depending on the priest he may allow a confession if you have mortal sin on your heart. Just get his number and ask him.

For some reason that I would rather keep personnal, I can’t do that until public celebrations or at least regular confession times are back.

Hail Mary,
Full of Grace,
The Lord is with thee.
Blessed art thou among women,
and blessed is the fruit
of thy womb, Jesus.
Holy Mary,
Mother of God,
pray for us sinners now,
and at the hour of our death.

Amen.

Saint Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil, may God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do you, O’ Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God thrust into Hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.

Amen.

Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.

Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.

Amen.

Prayer to Our Lady of Mental Peace

O Lady of Mental Peace,

and Mother of Hope,

look upon Mell022 in this time

of weakness and unrest.

Teach her searching heart

to know that God’s Love

for her is unchanging and

unchangeable, and, that

true human love can only

begin and grow by touching

His Love.

Let your gentle Peace -

which this world cannot give
  • be always with her.
And, help her to bring this

same Peace into the lives

of others.

Our Lady of Mental Peace,
  • Pray for us!
Amen.

Jesus, Help Me!

In every need let me come to You with humble trust,

saying:

Jesus, help me!

In all my doubts, perplexities, and temptations:

Jesus, help me!

In hours of loneliness, weariness and trials:

Jesus, help me!

In the failure of my plans and hopes, in disappointments,

troubles and sorrows:

Jesus, help me!

When others fail me, and Your Grace alone can assist me:

Jesus, help me!

When I throw myself on Your tender Love as Savior:

Jesus, help me!

When my heart is cast down by failure, at seeing no good

come from my efforts:

Jesus, help me!

When I feel impatient, and my cross irritates me:

Jesus, help me!

When I am ill, and my head and hands cannot work and

I am lonely:

Jesus, help me!

Always, always, in spite of weakness, falls and short-

comings of every kind:

Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, help me and never forsake me!

Amen
