My Brothers and Sisters:
My friend and brother in Christ, Daniel, will be representing a group of parishes and parishioners who have been trying to leave The Episcopal Church (used to be PECUSA then ECUSA) at a hearing in the California Supreme Court Court at 9 am on Wed., Oct. 8. I’m sure ECUSA will be sending full team of lawyers to oppose him - Daniel will be lucky if the parishes he’s representing have enough money to have two assistants seated at the table with him.
Not only will this case create a precedent which will either allow other parishes to leave without the shannanigans of the last 20 years, or a precedent which will mean that NO parish will be able to leave ECUSA with anything unless ECUSA approves the transfer, but this case could have the result of people losing their own property, life-savings and possibly even their jobs if Dan loses, because ECUSA isn’t only suing for the parish property, but for the PERSONAL PROPERTY of many of the parish members.
But, this isn’t just a legal case. If it were, I’d be somewhere else blogging to see if I could raise money for another assistant - I’m sure Dan could use one. ECUSA is now under the control of a spirit of Apostay and Heresy and is, therefore, persecuting the few remaining “orthodox Christians” within their ranks and trying to make it impossible for them to leave the dead body with anything but their skins and their souls. That’s why they’re dragging al thel parishes who are trying to leave to court, even parishes who own everything on their church properties and have never received a dime in assistance from the Diocese or any assistance from any Diocesan committee whatsover.
When ECUSA loses in the Trial Courts (ECUSA loses 3 of 4 times), ECUSA appeals. and, When ECUSA loses in the Appeals Court (3 of 4 times), ECUSA appeals to the State or Federal Supreme Court. The purpose isn’t so much to win (As you can see, ECUSA usu. loses) but to intimidate those parishes too poor to face these legal challenges and expenses.
As the Apostle St. Paul strictly enjoined us to find some way to settle these matters peaceably and to never take fellow believers to civil courts, I can’t see how this is Godly behavior on the part of ECUSA.
Please understand, the Parishes have never been the Plaintiff’s and have never hauled ECUSA TO COURT! The only people who hauled anyone to court here were the “Bishops” from ECUSA! and, The only people trying to persecute people for trying to preach, teach and practice “the faith once received” are the Bishops from ECUSA.
I know that some on this board have had difficulty in th past seeing these people who were in danger of losing their parishes, homes, life-savings to the ECUSA as being persecuted for their faith - I can only ask you why being threatened with bankruptcy and homelessness for standing up for the Lord Jesus isn’t being persecuted or suffering for the faith.
For the rest, please pray fervently for Daniel in the Lion’s Den of the California Supreme Court and pray that the Lord protect him from the wickidness and snares of the Devil while giving him the wisdom to know what to say and when to say it and the wisdom to know when it be silent and to pray.
