My 21-year-old niece, Mary, has had five brain surgeries in less than a year. She has a rare condition called pseudo tumor cerebri. Her intercranial pressure becomes extremely elevated (hydrocephalus.) My brother and sister-in-law went to her home to check on her on Tuesday, and found her having a seizure. She was rushed to the hospital, and her neurosurgeon performed yet another surgery. Mary has regained consciousness, but is extremely weak and confused. She is not out of the critical care unit yet, and we (her family) are understandably worried. We would love to see her have a respite from hospitals and debilitating pain for at least a year, please God. The condition is chronic, but some patients go for a relatively long time without having to have the shunt replaced.
My niece also has a young husband and a baby son, both of whom depend on her and need her. Please, please pray.
