We are in desperate need for vocations for the priesthood in the Pittsburgh Diocese of Pennsylvainia. Please pray we get priests. They are training the laity to do administrative works of the church. I would hate to see what the end outcome is, which will be the lessing of masses. We have mass everyday at my church. I attend when ever I can, which is usally a couples times a week. I feel so fulfilled when I am there, I hate to see if they cancel mass’.

Pray for men to come to the vocation of Deacon as well. they can’t say mass, but can do many services. And they will be among the people.

I pray all the time for vocations 🙂 .

As for laity doing administrative tasks in the parish . . . not a bad thing, IMO. I think priests should be freed up to handle the sacraments, pastoral duties, spiritual directions etc.

I realize that right now, laity are being trained to take over administative tasks because there aren’t enough priests. However, when there are more priests (and I believe there will be!), they will be freed up to be ministers, not adminstators. I think that will be a good thing. ----KCT

I didn’t realize Pittsburgh diocese was in that much of a need. A few months ago I was at St. Paul’s in Oakland, and I remember seeing a poster of present seminarians. I remember thinking that it was a fair number of seminarians. But I suppose Pittsburgh diocese is a lot larger than my home diocese.

I pray daily for vocations…all diocese included. We certainly need more priests everywhere.

In the month of May I decided to pray the rosary for new vocations, I promise to specially hold your diocese in my prayer, and am certain that if we all pray hard the Lord will answer the prayers and send more workers to his vineyard. :gopray:

Please pray also for the Archdiocese of Singapore. At the moment, there’s only 6 Seminarian, 2 in the 4th year, 2 in the 3rd year, 2 in the 2nd year. So it will take years before there will be ordination.

Most of the priests are quite old already and every year there are 2-4 priests go to Our Father’s home. It’s definitely a crisis here. I went for a vocation retreat last weekend and praise the Lord, there were 53 people attended the retreat.

God Bless,
Vincent
