O Lord, Holy Father, omnipotent and eternal God, I give You thanks and I bless Your holy name. I know I’m a poor miserable sinner but hear a cause that is just, pay heed to my cry, turn your ear to my prayer, no deceit is on my lips. Amen

For your intentions

Continued prayers……

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit, as it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come; thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil. Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now, and at the hour of our death. Amen.

Lord Jesus, hear my prayer, listen to my cry for help. Amen

“If God brings it to you- God will bring you through it.”

For the intentions of Alpha_One:

St. Michael the Archangel, defend us in the day of battle;
be our safeguard against the wiles and wickedness of the devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray, and do thou, O prince
of the heavenly host, by the power of God cast into hell Satan
and all other evil spirits, who prowl through the world, seeking
the ruin of souls.

Amen.

I just betrayed God by committing a certain mortal sin. I did it so casually, even rationalizing it at the moments immediately after it happened, thinking whether I should confess it or not. I still want to ponder whether I was in the right state of mind upon doing so or not, but whether or not my mind was clear at that moment I want to own up to what I did and it was an abomination.

I need to see a priest soon, and I’ve already prayed to God and asked for his forgiveness and mercy. I’ve talked to Our Lady about it as well. I have faith in Him and I know that he will give me the grace and grant me forgiveness.

But the devil is attacking me while I’m down. I can’t get to sleep and I’m being tempted by a feeling of despair. I need as many prayers as I can from the saints in Heaven and my brethren here on earth right now. Thank you for being with me.

Don’t you think you might be falling victim to some false expectations? Do you remember the parable of the wheat and the tares? How the weeds grow amongst the good things in life? Don’t despair when it happens to you in the garden of your life. Know also that despair is a part of the Christian life. I have some reading selections from Kathleen Norris’ “Acedia and Me” that shows how much despair and depression is a part of our lives. You can read some selections here:

Search the site for other “acedia” posts. There are several and will help give you a sense of perspective of where you are in your religious life. You didn’t “betray” God. How could a petty creature do that? He delights in your sense of righteousness and morality. Imagine the father in the Prodigal Son, feel his arms go around you and know the comfort there.

God bless you and my prayers go out to you.
