When does the Eucharistic become part of us? After it is placed on the tongue or first placed in our mouths? If we happen to gag or cough then that shouldn’t have any bearing on the Eucharistic being part of us or have any disrespect for the Eucharistic, correct?

The sacred elements of the Eucharist are considered consumed when they are no longer in their material form, that is when the Body of Christ is dissolved fully or swallowed and the Blood of Christ is swallowed or absorbed.

Gagging or coughing is a natural reaction our body makes to an obstruction in our airway and not normally a decisive act therefor isn’t considered disrespecting the Eucharist (unless intentionally inducing a caugh or gag when receiving communion for the purpose to defile).

What do you mean by this?

Like most foods, some parts of the Eucharistic species become part of us, and some parts are not digested and pass. However, when the Eucharistic species are decomposed into constituent parts (eg by digestion), the Real Presence ceases.
