We have created a new site that is a collection of quotes from early church authors regarding certain Catholic beliefs.

There are 7 links below that take you to essentially the same place but with a different color scheme. Please vote which colors you like the best. Please do not take into account font sizes and types, JUST COLORS.

Thank You!

I like #4 best. 👍
I don’t like anything with blue in it. Blue depresses me.

I liked #2 and #6.

Yes! I did too. I didn’t think I could vote for two though. LOL! I chose 2 but it was a toss up. 😉

I voted for 7 because it’s readible and cheery, but not too bright. 🙂

I found the intro text a little difficult to understand. This made more sense to me:
There are numerous takes on Church history, many of which focus on when the Catholic Church went “wrong.” These are usually amended with a theory as to what happened to the “true” Christian church during the time period between when the Catholic Church went “wrong” and when the “true” church came back into visible existence.
Very few attempt to use the wealth of early church documentation to argue for the existence of some Christian church other than the Catholic Church . Most of these theories refer to small churches that remained persecuted, hidden or unseen throughout the course of documented Church history. However, the lack of documentation on these small churches would seem to be indicative of their actual lack of existence.
Moreover, there is significant documentation that highlight certain heresies throughout the history of the Church. It seems at nearly every turn the title of a patristic work is “Against Such and Such.” It is most difficult to believe that early proto-Protestant (contra-Catholic) churches would not have been amongst those rebuked by the patristic writers, especially since the early church fathers appear to hold doctrines consistent with Catholicism and in conflict with Protestantism. This evidence must be considered when drafting a theory about Church history.
The goal of this site is simply to show Catholic doctrines have existed from the beginning of Church history as indicated by these patristic writings. The goal is not to refute other theories but rather to present the Catholic model for comparison. The validity of those competing theories is up to the inquisitive reader.
It should be underscored that the writings of the early church fathers and authors do not supercede Scripture. A lot of the problems that divide Christianity today come down to one thing: interpretation of Scripture. If you look hard enough you can most likely find at least 3 interpretations for nearly every line of Scripture. This is why it is important to read what some of the earliest Christians believed and taught. In some cases some of these early Christians were taught directly by Jesus’s disciples themselves (e.g., Ignatius of Antioch was a student of John).
To get started you can click the name of any belief to take you to a page that shows all of the writings in regards to that belief that have been compiled. You can also click the author to view all of the beliefs that that author wrote about. To see the quote associated with that belief or author, just click the +] to expand that selection. We understand that there may be an issue with the context of certain quotes. For this we have provided a source link following each quote that will take you directly to the work itself (primary) and in some cases to a location where you can find the quote (secondary). Over time we hope to have only primary sources.

thank you for the link added to favourites

#4 & #5 … I prefer earth-tones for the main body and blues for titles and highlighting things.

I voted for #2, but truly was a toss-up between 2 and 5…

Good luck on your website…

I think the color combination in #7 was very chic and up-to-the-minute–also very calming. My second choice would be #3 because it was cheerful but not jarring.
