The TLM is in a codified form and cannot be imposed upon by outside impositions of innovation. Let us remember that it is a product of organic development and was not created in a committee. The organic growth did not occur as a result of people imposing their will on the mass or tinkering or innovating. It came as a result of pius devotion and adherence to tradition. This is the means by which we preserve the faith, teachings, and practices of the apostles–not by experimentation or innovation, but by clinging steadfastly to tradition.

Now it would be too much of a disappointment to some were the EF itself changed, however I’m all for a “hybrid” of the EF and the NO. There are a number of people who really feel bent out of shape when they can’t understand the words of the Mass (without reading the missal and/or learning Latin - some people have more of a problem with learning foreign languages than others do and for some it would be learning a third language, when the second isn’t that easy) . Others feel strongly that the larger amount of Scripture readings at the NO is preferable (and, considering that the only Scripture the majority of people hear is at Mass, that’s probably true - The Church needs to look at what will be the most helpful to all for whom it’s responsible.)
Since so many souls were edified with the TLM, my preference therefore would be for having a hybrid added, where the Mass of the 1962 missal were said in the the direct translation and with the same amount of Scripture readings as the NO.
Now, I definitely don’t want this to replace the EF! I would probably be constantly attending the EF if it were available to me, however I’m looking for a way for many who won’t go to a Mass in another language, to have it available to them in a fully reverent liturgy that worships Him in a language that is more uplifting than street language.
The sign of the peace just seems to turn the congregation more toward socializing rather than to worshipping Him, IMHO.
