The youth ministry at my parish has various tshirt fundraisers and some of those shirts are pretty cool. They usually have some appealing Catholic graphic or quote on the front and a small youthgroup logo on the back. Sometimes I want to buy one on account of I like the shirt design. I can’t tell if adults are supposed to buy a shirt if they like it or just donate money to the cause and move along with our adult selves. I was too busy being a loner in my youth to know the norms. What do you know? What do you think?
  • Youth group fundraiser shirts are really meant to be worn by youth and youth ministers/adult volunteers only
  • Youth group fundraiser shirts are meant to be worn by anyone who bought a shirt in support of their cause

I am sure if they are trying to raise funds, they are happy to have anybody buy and wear their shirt. They likely made the logo small so that people who aren’t members of the group will still want the shirt due to the Catholic graphic.

If you bought a t-shirt it’s yours to wear. If you want to. It’s like these hats. You don’t have to be a professional baseball player. Anybody can wear one.

Buy and wear. As long as the symbols are Christian and the cloth is modest what is an issue?
We are all children in God’s eyes anyway. :hugs:

If there are tons of shirts, as in more than the are youth and chaperones/youth ministers, then I’d think the shirts were for anyone to wear. When I helped with youth events and there was a participant t-shirt, the adults wore a different color; the youth had a cool or trendy color and the adults had a different color, usually bright enough to stand out so people would know we were “staff.” And the number of shirts was limited to the number of participants.
