How many people do you think will choose the third option?
I don’t know, but, even though I answered number 1 I could have just as easily answered number 2. For me at least, the distinctions between the two have grown to be more semantics. How many people do you think will choose the third option?
I said number one, because I don’t think any of our good deeds can merit eternal life.
Everything God chooses to grant us is a grace, and we can’t deserve it, just be open to receiving what God wants to give us.
God bless![]()

That’s pretty much how I feel. And am just beginning to understand what it means to be open to receive His grace…and in such abundence…I said number one, because I don’t think any of our good deeds can merit eternal life.

Yea, there was something missing in the poll answers. Christ! Lots of mentions of “faith”, but faith in what?.
My choice wasn’t in the poll…
My choice: We are justified by God’s grace (a gift) in Christ through faith in Christ. Such faith is active in love/ good works in obedience to God (sola fide).
.
This is my thought as well. I’m going with #1 because I do believe I am saved by God’s grace alone. I can do good works all day long and they wouldn’t provide the justification for Him saving me. He does so because he is merciful, loving and kind.I voted for number one, although none of them really explain how I feel. I don’t think faith alone is what saves us (scripture states exactly the opposite in James). But I think that Faith produces good works, and faith grows through the comission of good works when one may not feel they have the strongest faith. It’s a circular existence with one leading to another with no real beginning and no real end. It’s the classic “which came first, the chicken or the egg” argument.
None of the answers is correct.
We are saved by the grace of God. Period.
Everything is** grace.**
Because of His grace, we can be saved through the sacrificial death of Christ Jesus. We have been saved, we are being saved, and we have hope of salvation through Him.

1)By grace (a gift) through a particular kind of faith (in Christ alone) that produces love, good works, and obedience to God (sola fide).
2)
By faith mixed with the works you do, which are associated with grace (the ability to do works that merit eternal life).
That is likely a better phrasing than either one or two..
