I thought it would be interesting to see if CAFers are mostly still working, working from home, or not working during the pandemic? What are we doing?

I’m just using up the last of my vacation time and then I’ll be officially laid off. After 38+ years in the same business and at the same place, I am not disappointed.

I’m still working. I work in a grocery store and business is booming.

I did work in healthcare but retired two years ago. Now, I may be asked to step back in if things go south at my hospital. My old lab director reached out and asked if I’d be willing to put in some hours if needed. I told him that if I was needed, I would but don’t expect me to work like I’m 30 yo again! No call yet!

Other- Still working from home. My job has always been remote, with flexible hours so I can work around homeschooling the kids, etc.

Key worker. Been off for a week with a chest infection, but going back on Saturday.

I’m retired, and currently taking care of my mom at her house. My sister works in health care, and my son works in construction, and they are both still working.

Appreciate all the responses. It seems like most respondents that were working before are still working now, which is great. I am working from home. That is a change for me. I have worked from home from time to time, but never for weeks on end. My wife is also working from home, so we have the challenge of trying to manage that. Mostly she works upstairs and I work downstairs, and its working out better than I would have thought, honestly.

Social work. We can only do a certain amount remotely. For people living in already abusive or dysfunctional homes, this is a very hard time. In others, the problems are only now coming to the surface.
