Come! We must learn to do everything for God alone in order to deserve Heaven."
St. Bernadette

Is it possible that God may be calling you to a life of thansgiving and prayer before the Lord as a Poor Clare Sister of Perpetual Adoration? Inquiries into our way of life are welcome and will receive a prompt response from our Vocation Directress. We hope that you too might find at St. Paul’s a place of peace and refreshment and be able to join us for Liturgy and a time of adoration here at the Shrine. May the blessing our our Holy Mother Saint Clare be upon you! I feel called to be a Poor Clare sister of Perpetual adoration

May Almighty God bless you,
May He look upon you with the eyes of mercy
And give you peace
May He pour forth His graces upon you abundantly
And in heaven may he place you among His saints.

Amen.

The Poor Clares of Perpetual Adoration are entirely dependent upon God’s Providence for all of their temporal needs.

I had a calling to this life since childhood then again at 15 and now I still have the calling my responce was to the Lord: HERE I AM LORD

Hello my fellow Franciscan Sister in Christ!!🙂

I will be discerning with the Capuchin Poor Clares for a month or more, living in the cloister as a “candidate”, or as some other communities call it, “Aspirant”. I wish I could discern with the PCPA’s at the Shrine, but I am way passed thier age limit. Do you know of any other Francican communities that will accept older vocations. The Visitation Nuns accept older vocations, and even the one I will be going to, accepts women with mild impediments. I hate that term.
So are you a Postulant with this community, because I recieve thier monthly newletter, and I know Sr.Gisselle, will have her Investure Ceremony most likely on December 8th. One of the Sisters there, has the same name as mine----Sr. Mary Cecilia, PCPA. I remember taping Sr.Marie Augustine’s entrance as an Extern Aspirant in Birmingham and taping Sr.Ruth Marie’s Investure Ceremony in Birmingham also. Watching it over and over makes me cry, because I know someday I will only belong to Him. If you do speak to Sr. Ruth Marie, tell her I remember asking Mother Angelica if she could “change her name”. It was funny.
Well it is late. Please keep in your prayers, LaVerne Davis. I am a unpaid, Live in, Care Giver. I recieve a stepend from the family for my needed expenses. I have free room/board/utilities, in exchange for helping out around the house.

I hope you don’t mind, but I looked up the Franciscan communities for women on the Institute for Religious Life’s website, searching for orders that consider older vocations. Mind you, this is not a complete list.

Hope this helps, my possible future Franciscan sister in Christ (I am discerning the Franciscan Sisters of the Renewal). 😃

I am not sure why Mother Angelica’s group wouldn’t accept older women. I don’t know if you know this, but Mother Angelica’s real life mother actually joined the PCPAs late in her life back in the 1960s, her name was Sister Mary David. I only know that because I’ve read the biography of Mother Angelica by Raymond Arroyo. Perhaps, because it was her own mother, that it was special circumstances.

Hello! Yes I do know that mother angelica’s own mother did enter the monastery, as Sr.Mary David, I to have the autobigraphy of Mother Angelica’s, I haven;t finished it, even though I recieved it last xmas as a gift. I have recieved another beautiful book, by a Sr. Basilea Schlink. She wrote a book about falling in love with Our Lord again, but most of all, becoming His Bride of Christ. She was a Benedictine Nun in Germany. Our Lord asked her to be closer to Him. So she devoted all her time, (besides doing all chores, and prayer time), in her cell, what He exactly wanted of her. To fall in love with him in a deeper way, as a contemplative nun. Her order was, but not as He had wanted it to be.🙂 I spoke to a Bother Mary David, of the Knights of the Holy Euchurist, founded by M.Angelica, a few years ago. He told me that even if they put the age limit higher, the Solmen Professed Sisters, would all look over your appalication for entrance, and take a vote, as to if you are to enter or not:confused: . Even those becoming a Novice, Temp. Professed. and Solemn Professed. In chapter they all take a vote, except Postulant/Novices.😦 Our Lord has other plans for me an that is fine. I met a Carmelite Brother, at a retreat I was attending. We spoke about how do you know you have a vocation, and when you knew you had it, were you going to follow it or not. We are go to keep in contact by email. God Bless, Br. Mary Mark of the Immaculate Heart of Mary:thumbsup:

In The Love Of Christ, I remain,

Hello. I am not all attracted to the dominican, cistercian, or benedictine orders. I have visited some in the late 1996, '97, and '98. And they are very picky. Now that older women are interested in entering communities that wear a form of religious garb/veil, I believ the age limit will change.🤷 :

May our Lady protect you. Oh, the woman I asked prayers for, LaVerne Davis, age 81, died at home in front of, myself, grand daughter—Alexandria(7), her mom–Sharon(47), her sister—Joann(43), and a friend of the family, Donna. LaVern would not let go. She fought hard, until I mentioned, that she’s waiting for you 2, to tell her it’ll be alright. When Joann whispered in her mom’s ear, her breathing became alot slower, and a tear came out of her right eye. Then she stopped, and all that beautiful color in her young face, left so fast!! I’d NEVER saw anything like that before.:heaven: :bighanky: :bighanky:

I went through this same process with my mom, over 16 years ago, and it still really hurts ALOT:(
