Christianity and even religious belief are in grave danger across the globe, risking oblivion, Pope Benedict XVI said.

“Even though dialogue has borne much fruit, in ecumenical talks the church must guard against the risk of believing all religions are equal, and it must be sure not to distort or obscure Catholic doctrine.”

That was an interesting quote by the Pope…

Ecumenical dialogue cannot ignore “the great moral questions of human life, the family, sexuality, bioethics, freedom, justice and peace,”

So is this one!

Yes I totally agree.
I live in Australia where religion is seen by many as evil, or second class to living in an economically sustainable country.
More and more of my friends and acquaintances are either rejecting religion all together, or just not caring about their own faith, by putting everything else before it.
Material obsession, scientific and philosophical manipulation and rejection of religion, and idolization are becoming more of a norm and people feel they are their own gods and don’t need God.
Something drastic has to change otherwise this world is sharply going down hill!!!
The Maronite parish I belong to seems to be growing and getting stronger. I think it is due to our strong religious community traditions that every one sees it as a social gathering as well as a religious experience. This is definitely not happening across the board where people are viewing religion under negative and most of the time misunderstood connotations.

Its very sad and to be honest I am quite hurt by this movement.

Look at the Holy Land, the exile of Christianity continues. The numbers have been reduced to lowest amount in History and continue to rise. Israel is a literal war zone, impossible to move around in. The rest of the surrounding area? Well, you decide for yourself.

Peace
