Pope Benedict XVI will visit Washington D.C. in April, more information from an NBC News report here.

Not in the Washington D.C. area but I will be receiving tickets for the New York Yankee Stadium Papal Mass. Thank God for that! I’m flying to New York a week before the event. I am so excited. What a blessing!

I’ve put in for my tickets at my local parish. I’m praying that I will actually get the tickets.
 
I’m not going, although I’m close enough to go. I think it would be cool to see the Pope, but I don’t think I could stomach the papolatry of the masses…

I think I’ll just continue reading his books instead. 🙂
 
I got the call this week that I will have a ticket to attend and have been dancing on air ever since. Will probably “hang out” in front of the White House the day before the Mass, when he is meeting with the President (April 16, the Pope’s birthday); they are planning some kind of procession or motorcade during his visit as well – I assume that will be to or from the White House, although the details are not yet available.

The Metro will be packed, the crowds will be huge, security will be a nightmare – and I am so very looking forward to it. 😃

I just found out a friend of mine has an extra ticket. So I get to go. I’m so excited.

Does anyone know the rules? I had to give my name and birthdate. Plus I understand we have to take the Metrorail. But can we bring anything? Cameras? What’s the itinerary or agenda?

Any information would be appreciated.

I was just blessed by Pope Benedict himself and was within 10-12 feet away. I was personally asked to come to the vatican after I wrote them and told them of my Epiphany with God in 2006.
When I arrived at my hotel in Rome, there was a fax from the Vatican for me.

As for any tickets remaining, I hear it is totally sold out. I am so happy.

As you may have already heard, there will be two principle moments for a Popemobile Motorcade (route information below). What you may not have heard is that the Archdiocese is expected to be inundated by protesters from across the country who are also coming in to see the Pope. As a result, we are trying to mobilize all the faithful Catholic supporters to line the streets early. So grab your T-shirts, flags, banners, guitars, and please spread the word!

  After the pope’s **April 16 **visit at the White House, **around noon****, the pope will travel in the popemobile to the Vatican Embassy on Massachusetts Avenue. From the White House, the route will follow Pennsylvania Avenue to Washington Circle. From there, the motorcade will head toward Massachusetts Avenue through Rock Creek Parkway, to the residence located across from the U.S. Naval Observatory.**

  The public generally can see the pope from the sidewalks throughout the route. Sidewalks immediately in front of the White House and Lafayette Park, directly across Pennsylvania Avenue from the White House, will be closed to the public. Washington Circle also will be closed as a viewing location.
 
What I thought was funny was how people were actually waiting in line to order hot dogs and food while awaiting the pope at Yankee Stadium…geez…can I have fries with that Mass??🤷
