So this is a comment left by someone who didn’t do their research. “You and your source (which appears to be Ian Paisley’s book Antichrist ) are in serious trouble if, as seems to be the case, they’re dating the quote to 1661. There have been no Popes named Nicholas since Nicholas V in 1455, some 200 years prior to the quote. The Pope in 1661 was in fact Alexander VII”.

So for one no one was saying it was a quote from 1661 and two, pope nicholas was pope from 858-867. No pope Nichols since 1455? Lol

I’m afraid no one here will know what you’re talking about. Comment left on where? I just did a Google research of that comment and it’s not found anywhere except your post here.

I think the user is one who was very recently banned for creating an anti-Catholic thread (I don’t think anyone else would cite Ian Paisley).

Pope Quote Apologetics
BrianH, you and your source (which appears to be Ian Paisley’s book Antichrist) are in serious trouble if, as seems to be the case, they’re dating the quote to 1661. There have been no Popes named Nicholas since Nicholas V in 1455, some 200 years prior to the quote. The Pope in 1661 was in fact Alexander VII. Besides which, note the wording. ‘I can do almost all that God can do’. Remember the powers that Christ gave to his Apostles - to forgive sins, bind and loose heaven, the keys of the kingd…

Thanks Vico for tracking this down.

OP, the thread to which you’re referring is from 2007. 13 years ago.

Many of the people posting here now weren’t even on the forum then. We have no idea what this is about and are unlikely to want to revisit some 13-year-old topic.

Also, your original post, from a reading comprehension standpoint, is unclear to me and is not making sense.
