From Pope Francis (Minor formatting changes and emphasis mine) . . .
. . . .I cordially greet Polish pilgrims. In the “Our Father”, in saying to the Lord: “Give us this day our daily bread”, we ask not only for food for the body, but also the gift of the Eucharistic Bread, nourishment of the soul.
.
We know that one who has committed a serious sin should not approach Holy Communion without having first obtained absolution in the sacrament of Reconciliation. . . .

Thank you Holy Father.

God bless you Pope Francis.

That’s perennial Church teaching…

Of course Pope Francis believes this. When has he ever indicated otherwise?

Spyridon. I’m not sure I understand your question.

I am interested in catechesis and liturgy.

I shared catechetical and liturgical teaching from the Holy Father. I linked to it from the Vatican website.

Did I intimate here or anywhere else that Pope Francis DOESN’T believe this? (“Of course Pope Francis believes this.”)

Did I suggest Pope Francis has “ever indicated otherwise?”
(“When has he ever indicated otherwise?”)

Please clarify and thanks in advance.

I think Spyidon’s point was your post sounded as if it were ‘hot news’, OP.

Maybe that’s it? I don’t know.

I didn’t post it in “news” but perhaps you are right.

Spyidon?

I just thought this is a good reminder of perennial Catholic teaching. The Holy Father thought it was worth re-affirming, so I thought I would do so too.
