Did Pope John Paul I accomplish anything in his short reign as Pope? I can’t get much info on him? Did he write any Encyclicals or anything while he was Pope before his death?
Well, even though he was only Pope for a short time, his promotion from Cardinal means he qualified for better pension benefits reserved for Popes instead of just the Cardinal pension plan.
He didn’t write any encyclicals, but he had published a fine book called that was released after his death called Illustrissimi: Letters of Pope John Paul I by Albino Luciani. These are “letters” he wrote to famous people in history. I think it shows what kind of pontiff the “Smiling Pope” would have been.
