Pope Names American as #2 Liturgist

Apparently American Fr. Augustine “Gus” Di Noia has been named Secretary of the Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments, the number two post in the Congregation for Divine Worship and the Discipline of the Sacraments. He is replacing Archbishop Ranjith.

I don’t know anything about him, but thought readers of this forum might be interested.

It has not happened yet. It is a possibility, albeit a strong possibility, but, nothing has transpired. If the appointment will take place, it should happen before the Solemnity of Sts. Peter and Paul.

good choice. I have heard him speak several times and he is excellent. he authored, among many other good books, the Mystery we Proclaim a great book on the catechism of the CC for catechists and others who teach.
