These are good principles that one need always consider. Now in this day, the idea of alcohol being evil is not quite the issue it was during the error of temperance, but on a case by case basis, there are many times when we could cause the stumbling of one who struggles with substance abuse.

The “weaker brother” principle is definitely cultural in that the causes for stumbling change with time, but it is always an important consideration to weight the spiritual needs of others.

Yes, I absolutely follow you. That principle applies to, really, everything, even secular things like training someone at your job (you would work harder than usual to ensure they are trained properly).

We should always strive to set a good example as to not only avoid scandal, but lead by example (while doing it for the right reasons, i.e. not our pride)
