He’s one of the greatest heroes the world has ever known – he saved 700,000 lives! – but the Church is afraid of the political stigma of canonizing him, because of silly myths floating around that has made people falsely think that he was a Nazi supporter.

It isn’t really him you’re mad at, but the myths about him. Isn’t there a group who named themselves after him but are a break away group?

Not Pius XII. You are thinking of the Society of St. Pius X. Then there is the group that broke away from them - the Society of St. Pius V.
