Did the Holy Father recently make positive comments about internet use? If so, where can I find them?

I told someone I would try and find out.

TIA!

I don’t know how recently the comments you refer to were supposed to have been made, but on January 24th this year Pope Benedict released a message for this year’s World Communications Day, which falls on Sunday 31 May 2009. He said, (excerpt):

“I am conscious of those who constitute the so-called digital generation and I would like to share with them, in particular, some ideas concerning the extraordinary potential of the new technologies, if they are used to promote human understanding and solidarity. These technologies are truly a gift to humanity and we must endeavour to ensure that the benefits they offer are put at the service of all human individuals and communities, especially those who are most disadvantaged and vulnerable.”

The full 4-page PDF of the massage may be found here.

I believe that it shows how in touch with the modern world His Holiness is and that he is willing to reach out to the digital generation in terms familiar to them and encourage us to use the facilities which the modern world presents to us to spread the Good News by which we are saved.

Also, the Church was already onto the whole ‘new media’ thing way back in the 60s - see the DECREE ON THE MEDIA OF SOCIAL COMMUNICATIONS:

. 😃

P.S. The vatican has a YouTube channel here.

I am HOME today, as a returned Catholic, because several years ago I typed into a search bar: “decended to the dead.”

👍

People do find what they are looking for.

If you are a truth seeker, you will happen upon truth.

So, it’s a good thing.
