Porn addiction -- remedies?

Hi all,

May I ask whether deliverance is the appropriate remedy for porn addiction? And if yes, when is it appropriate to ask a priest for deliverance? Is it when the addiction is very severe?

I’m also scared of deliverance. Can someone please enlighten me what it is all about? Thanks!
 
The Holy Rosary prayed daily and watch what happens as the months pass.

just trust me on that one 😉
 
I agree with @MAS79 prayer the rosary daily and also go to confession regularly you will definitely see a difference.
 
I’d also like to add that, for me at least, praying a Hail Mary or several, as soon as I am aware of impure thoughts has really helped.

I’m nearly a month free from this struggle. I’ll pray the Our Father as well. I say these quick prayers as soon as I am aware of impure thoughts and I pray them until it passes. I’m currently having less thoughts and they pass quicker.

Hang in there it takes a lot to overcome this sin. Just don’t ever ever ever not get back up and get back on the horse.

Not just a difference, but a world of difference as in your completely freed 😉

the 3rd promise of The Rosary says, “The Rosary shall be a powerful armor against hell , it will destroy vice, decrease sin, and defeat heresies.”

key words… ‘destroy vice’ (notice how it says ‘destroy’ as in completely remove). porn is a vice and a powerful one at that. but if you keep on praying The Rosary daily (daily is key!) I can assure you, you will be victorious 😉 ; it might seem like nothing is happening at first but eventually the inevitable will happen and that sin is no more.

but keep in mind once your freed from it, make no mistake, it’s ALL God’s grace that did it as the only thing we do on our part is to make the choice to want to be freed, but the ability to resist that sin is solely because of God’s grace.
 
Going to confession is an Exorcism; but make sure you go with your mind made up to avoid the nearest occasions of sin, even if it means throwing in our cellphone in the trash or ripping the internet out of your home. Read St John Bosco’s many dream about hell and the impure snares the devil sets to entrap his victims, such as Bosco’s dream about he snake and the rosary. But also enliven and sharpen your sense to detect the evil around you that entices you into that seductive abyss. True, from my experience pray the Rosary everyday no matter how you feeling and mood are.
 
Install Porn blocker on all your devices and have a trusted friend select the password
 
Just say “Lord help me” every time you’re tempted. God doesn’t mind.
