What do you think: appropriate, pushing it too far, blasphemy? Mary and Joseph was saving Jesus from Herod, who wanted to kill him. Can there be a metaphor unless some are running from Mexican gangs? They were refugees. Is that so of most illegal immigrants from Mexico? Those who get out of their oppressive country, like Cuba, N. Korea or Vietnam, might have a story to share with Latinos sneaking in here, especially if their home country’s leader is homicidal, has a 1 child policy or would risk the lives of the people for a rare fish.
Since the story of Jesus has been politicized for something too unrelated, I lean towards blasphemy.

That is standard Latin American propaganda. But do you think those people have sympathy for the poor of other nations?
