Hey guys, I have always really been interested in writing a book someday and I kind of want to get started with it soon.

I have a vague outline, and I was wondering ifv any of you would be able to comment on whether the plot sounds interesting enough.

So basically, there is an atheist man who is a college professor. He often gets into arguments with his students over the existence of God and Jesus.

One night, an angel appears to him in a dream, and takes him back in time.

Basically the rest of the book involves the angel taking the man on a journey throughout the Old and New Testament times. He is able to hear Jesus talk, and follows him. He still has his doubts throughout most of the book, but Jesus’ death and resurrection change his mind.

So the entire book would involve some bible stories, (and explanations from the angel), as well as the spiritual journey this man takes.

Sounds cool 🙂

It is inspiring to hear people coming
to faith in Jesus and drown out the
devil’s LIES. Too often the devil is
shouting from the rooftops while the
gospel is whispering in the inner
rooms.

Sounds workable

Good luck!

If you haven’t already done so or planned to, I’d recommend that you talk to some actual atheist college professors and get their (name removed by moderator)ut. That way you could 1) avoid turning the atheist professor in your book into a caricature (á la God’s Not Dead) and 2) make sure that your story addresses questions and concerns that atheists actually have.

Personally, I don’t like the fantasy part of your idea.

If I saw an angel, I wouldn’t have any trouble believing in God. The rest would be redundant.

Angels have been depicted as like little cherubs with wings. I think angels are fiercely powerful and most people in the Bible who encounter them are very afraid.
