That is true that people are on very points of their spiritual journey or share our worldview. The best thing I think that I can do from now on is to take my time before getting in a relationship. It also would be best to only date someone who shares the Catholic faith.

Part of what I am worried about is that other Catholic’s may as interested in dating a man who has not yet been in full communion. However I feel that others may respect this and even help me learn more about the faith and live a Catholic Christian life together. Regardless faith is first and if I find someone who shares the same believes then that is great.

I will pray for this girl. I at least showed her the CatholicComeHome website and explained some of the very basic Catholic beliefs. The seed is planted in her life. The left is left up to her.

As you wrote, it’s best that you concentrate on your spiritual life just now and forget about dating at least until you’ve been received into the Church. Getting your spiritual house in order is enough for you to do just now, yes? IOW, I wouldn’t seek out dates at this point, but wait. Waiting will also make you more willing to date the right kind of persons instead of leaping into any new relationship too early. Just some advice from a older married lady. 😉

Well after discussing marriage and a family she decided she was tired of dating me and did not what to practice chasity. She broke up with me earlier today. Now I think I should use this time to build my faith. It probably is best to date someone who shares the same beliefs.
Oh, I am sorry for your breakup…in a way. But thankful that you went no further into this relationship which was based on the sin of fornication. I would not jump to worrying about Catholic women seeing you as “less-than” because you are in the process of conversion. One step at a time.

🙂

I agree its best to use this time to build my faith and focus and being Confirmed. 🙂 And in the future make sure to practice chastity so that the relationship can focus on things other than fornication.
