!!!MY HUSBAND RECEIVES THE EUCHARIST TODAY!!!

Special thanks to:
Father-Saint Joseph, for his provision and protection.
St. Paschal Baylon, who interceded for Husband to reach a point of intellectual assent to the Real Presence.
St. Francis de Sales, my spiritual director, who Husband independently chose as his patron. (Though, given how it happened, it’s possible St. Francis chose him.)

!!GLORY TO GOD IN THE HIGHEST!!

Please pray for Husband. Confession is at 3:15, followed by Confirmation and Eucharist during the 4p Mass. All of his sacraments will be administered by the pastor serving my parish when I was growing up, who is now a close family friend.

That’s so great to hear! Prayers and God bless, thanks be to God.

Wonderfull news Mrs A 😃 remembering you both in mass tomorrow.

That’s wonderful! What a blessing!
Congratulations to him for finally taking that act of faith. 😇 😀 Just curious, how long have you been praying for this to happen?

A little under two years of daily Mass and adoration. Fortunately though, I was never praying for him to become Catholic – every time he spoke from his discomfort and frustration, I could honestly say that wasn’t true. I prayed for Jesus to draw him to His table; I wanted the Eucharist for him.
Husband: But in order to do that, I’d have to be Catholic.
Me: Yes, but that’s just a prerequisite. It’s not my goal. There’s a difference!

I didn’t manage to pray with equal fervor every single day during all that time. The consistency was in showing up to adore. Because we are married, every moment I spend with Jesus directly benefits my husband. And as evidence of that, here’s a little about him:
  • Both his grandfathers were Protestant ministers.
  • For decades, his grandmother had the Maine license plate that said “BIBLE”.
  • He did his undergrad in Bible studies, at a well-known Protestant college. (Which both his siblings and many cousins also attended.)
  • He introduced himself to me online as a “very reformed” Protestant. (To which I replied, “What’s that?”)
  • I even spent a few years in Protestant-land with him.
I couldn’t have overcome that kind of entrenchment in fifty years, much less two! But that’s the Protestant who converted on Saturday, after 18+ months researching and reading the Church Fathers. And the reason he started doing that? Jesus drew me into Adoration, and it made Husband very uncomfortable. Before he stepped in front of me and told me No, he wanted to make sure he was right, and not interfering with God’s will for me.

😃 😃 😃 HOLY SPIRIT FOR THE WIN!!! 😃 😃 😃

It was a wonderful day.

That is AMAZING! What a testament to the truth of the Catholic Church! He should share it with Marcus Grodi on the Coming Home network. Thanks for sharing it with us!
