I have created this forum so that you can praise God for his compassion on all human beings. I would like you to type something that would praise God. It might move another person to conversion. But let us praise the Lord for his mercy. I made this poem to encourage you:

Divine Mercy
He is a Father to the fatherless
A mother he has given us from himself
He is the light for those who are in the despair of darkness
A comforter to those sorry for sin
He is life to those dead in sin
A brother who has given his life for us
He is the one who defends us from the Enemy
For we are made in his image
And His tenderness and love is what makes sons and daughters
Out of just meer creatures and mud
For no animal is near the pricelessness of a human
He is the love of all souls
Oh, Divine Mercy come into the world and convert thy servants!

Well, it is certainly a different tone than the Book of Numbers, where Moses and his tribe, upon returning from a long trip generations away from when Joseph was sold into Egyptian slavery by his own brothers, was told by God to go slay every man, woman and children in the way of the Promised Land.

Well, this is certainly a different tone than from the days before King David just about 3,000 years ago, where the predecessor, King Saul, was told what a pitiful disappointment he was by God by not following God’s commandment to go wipe an entire human population off the face of the Earth. Today we face a world where such nonsense as to believe God can not smote whole Populations anytime He wants to - by Famine, Hurricanes, Volcanoes, or even an asteroid strike is seen for what it is - just nonsense. We no longer have a religion that believes that God is so inadequate, incapable, and impotent that He would ever actually need us to do anything. We finally have a religion that sees such nonsense that God would tell us to go kill whole populations because He can no longer do it on His own for what it is … nonsense.

But other religions still have the remanants of the old ways where people believe that they need to do for God what God is no longer able or willing to do. I am not sure what it is going to take to win such populations to the light of Christ and the concept of Divine Mercy … but silent prayer is obviously not working. Yet just when things look so bleak, I must remember a few things. First of all, God only instituted one organization in all of human history. No, not the Republican Party, or the Knights of Columbus, or the Catholic League. He instituted His Church, with the promise that even as governments came and went - including ours - He would be with this Church 'til the bitter end. Secondly, as bad as the world seems to us know, it is nothing compared to the persecution and overpowering nature of Romans, the Hasmoneans, and others in the time of Jesus who all but completely crushed Christianity. We will survive this, and this, too will pass. So, be not afraid, and fear not!

It is important that we spread the good news of DIvine Mercy everywhere so that all may come to repentance.

We are all capable of Divine Mercy.
We need to all display this.

Praise God for His mysterious ways
Praise God for His mercy, more terrible than our justice
Blessed be the Name of the Lord, who gives life and takes it away
Oldest of all things that are, the Three in One.
To look upon His face is death, yet the Twelve looked up It and lived.
Praise God for His mercy on the Devil; if He has mercy on Lucifer, how can He fail to have it on us?
Praise God for the gift of His flesh and His blood, the eternally offered sacrifice of the Eucharist, God offered up to God.
Praise God for the gift of His Blessed Mother, Mary, Ciuapiltzin Coatlaxopeuh.

It occured to me, reading about Sister Faustina, that the Divine Mercy is why God created the Devil, despite knowing he would fall. Think about it. Existence is good, so God, in His mercy, still granted it to the being who would become evil.

And you thought Zen was hard to understand? Pish!

INCREDIBLE! I now see Divine Mercy in a new way. Divine Mercy wants to save all people in spite of knowing their fall.

(Wisdom 11, 17-26 12, 1-22)

But we ought to think about how God feels. Knowing that he will create someone to be to be his child and yet knowing that child will not allow him to hug them. It is like a father who knows what is good for his children and wants them to be with him, but the children are free and stubborn, they just do not want to listen. How hurt must God be to know that many of his children will reject there own Father who loves them unconditionally and governs them with gentleness and mercy. God does not want the damnation of his sons and daughters, but it is many of these who want to damn themselves by rejecting Our Father’s open arms that is shown in the crucifixion of Our Brother.
Let us turn to God’s Divine Mercy.

For readers who may not know what this Divine Mercy is all about, check out divinemercy.org - and if you don’t mind check out a similar site divinewill.org - both of these moments have resulted in women who claim to have seen Jesus in genuine modern conversation. In the case of Saint Faustina, she was told to hire a painter to paint Him - Jesus - with two rays from His Sacred Heart - one red, and one white. Also this picture was to be inscribed, “Jesus, I Trust (in) You.”

The original painting is hanging in many Churches. An updated rendition features a completely updated Christ, and when I contacted the people who are responsible for Divine Mercy, I was assurred that this is not meant to be a “snapshot” of how Christ appeared to Sister Faustina, but rather Artistic License. Thus, no one can ever be told that Christ is not within them because they lack the eye color, hair color, or nose type of Jesus, and God’s brilliant plan to leave no physical evidence of the human appearance of Jesus is left intact - so that we do not dismiss those who look differently, as Jesus is truly capable of being within any of us.

As far as Luisa (the latter link) she is now under the scrutiny at the Vatican regarding whether she should be Beautified and canonized a Saint. I am convinced that if Saint Faustina’s visions are valid, Luisa’s are none less Valid, especially since she has named Saints who verify her story that Jesus was speaking to her. I am, to be honest, a pessimist about most of these things concerning “private revelation” but so were people in the times of Hosea and Jeremiah. There is one particularly troublesome popular movement where an Irish woman who won’t even use her real name (she calls herself Ana) has a cult following including many Catholic priests and nuns … who claims all sorts of things that may or may not ultimately be proven legitimate. I have never and will never put my trust in these type of people. As Sister Faustina would remind us by the words on the description, we are to put our trust in Jesus … and Jesus alone.

The Divine Mercy effort (like the Divine Will effort) are very interesting to me, but it lacks the weight of Scripture itself, which the Holy Spirit validates for any Catholic who asks the Holy Spirit to put anything through a “Holy Spirit Sense Test.” It does not matter so much to me - and I know I sound selfish - what Jesus is telling some 20th Century Women - or Mary too, for that matter. What matters to me is what Jesus is telling me today - through the life He gives me, through the people I meet, and through that Scriptures that I read.

We should always believe something the Church says is true, is true. This is partly why the Church is hear. They have been investagated thouroghly and there is nothing that a devotion couldn’t assist you in.

“Eternal Father, I offer you the body and blood, soul and divinity of your dearly beloved Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ for the atonement of our sins and of those of the whole world.”(Divine Mercy)

One thing is that it is one of the most beautiful Prayers. Second thing it is purely in Scripture. Thirdly I was not talking purely about the prayer, but rather it itself. Fourthly, reading what other people have to say about there lives can help you see your faith in a completely different way. One should ask why does one read the Church Fathers? It is for a similar reason. It should matter because when you say the chaplet you are actually showing your appreciation for Divine Mercy.

Come to think of it. Fr. Benedict Groeschel is going to talk about Divine Mercy today. I ought to think about watching it.🙂

**Blessed are the merciful,
for they shall obtain mercy. **

This alone shows mercy is a characteristic of the Divine. If we are to be Christ-like then part of that is that we must be merciful to obtain mercy; mercy for ourselves and for each other.

Eternal blessings and praise until infinity stops in the hand of Our Being. May the Great Yaweh, The Great One Who IS have infinite dominion over all His Works and have mercy upon the totality of His Creation.

Yahweh, into your Hands, I commend my spirit.

I was told long ago … in the Vatican as a matter of fact … that one doesn’t have to even believe in Saints to be a good Catholic. I happen to believe in Saints, and I am most grateful to St. Thérèse of Lisieux - who I address every day in my prayers, for the miracle that she arranged for my Father - told on his birthday on February 24th that he only had a few months to live before dying a painful death to lung cancer. Not only is the tumor gone from his body, but his body is cancer-free now. More importantly, I prayed that my Father bear no pain, and thanks to St. Thérèse of Lisieux, he has felt no pain throughout this process.

But the Church does not equate the private revelations to anyone - not even to those who witnessed Marian Apparations at Guadalupe, Fatima, or other places to be something equal to the even greater miracle of witnessing Jesus Himself at every Mass in the Eucharist. There was a “Cult of Mary” that got so out of hand that Pope Paul VI asked for believers to “tone it down to reality a bit” in one of his Encyclicals (Lumen Gentium).

I have no problem with the Divine Mercy Chaplet. As stated, any prayer is a good prayer, and we should all pray more. “The family that prays together stays together,” Mother Theresa often told us, and she was right. How many families aren’t doing this, and why should anyone be so surprised at the number of gangs and divorces we have to deal with these days?

All I am saying is that to me, the Divine Mercy movement, while well-intentioned and theologically sound, has never been proclaimed by any Vicar of Christ to be factual Divine revelation equal to, for example, the 2nd book of Revelations. It is an inspirational message, and a righteous message, and one in the highest traditions of the Church. Anyone - even you or I, can through the Holy Spirit receive “messages” from God, and often these messages come in the form of the events and situations that are presented to us each and every day. In fact, it is not the Bible that helps one to understand the Holy Spirit but rather the Holy Spirit that helps one to understand the Bible. To many good Catholics, every Diary of Saint Faustina passes the “Holy Spirit sense test” and to them, these words are the source of great inspiration. So far as “Church Teachings,” again, there are different levels of “Church Teachings,” and Pope Pius X would have a heart attack when pondering some of this “New Catechism,” while St. Peter would have a heart attack pondering some of the things Pope Pius X declared from the Throne of Peter. In other words, even “Church Teachings” themselves have a wide range of credibility and importance. Just ask Galileo or the victims of the Spanish Inquisition. What is important are the two greatest Commandments … to love God and others. Everything else is just fringe material for discussion with very little tangible importance on Earth or in heaven. So long as the Divine Mercy Chaplet promotes love of God and neighbor, then God bless it all.

I thank and praise God for his Son, and the gift of His Blood which was poured out for our salvation.

I thank and praise Him for the Cross, where Justice meets Mercy with the kiss of peace.

I thank and praise Him for the Resurrection of Christ, the firstfruit of the salvation of the whole human from death.

I thank and praise Him for the gift of Grace, which allows us to receive the Truth, which is Christ in His death and resurrection, and through this Grace we will rise up from death to life, now in our spirits and on the last day in our bodies!

I praise and thank God for each and every new day, for each new thing he allows me to experience, good and bad. I thank him for the abilities I have, even though I don’t always use them fully.

Above all I thank him for the gift of the sacrament of Reconciliation, which allows us to clean our slates and start again when we’ve done wrong.

Without that I would be lost a long time ago!!
