As I unfortunately expected, I saw a huge drop off in Mass attendance last Sunday compared to Easter Sunday. There are so many Catholics out there who need our prayers for an openness to receive God’s Word and the Eucharist every Sunday, not just Christmas and Easter.

Imagine a world where every Catholic took their duty to attend Sunday Mass seriously. From the RosaryMeds blog:
Imagine the beacon of God‘s glory the Catholic Church could be if the world saw overflowing churches every Sunday. Imagine how much love and happiness there would be in our world if more people got more regular doses of prayer, grace, instruction, and forgiveness through the sacraments of Reconciliation and the Eucharist. Imagine the peace that would spread if more people heard the Word of God and homilies teaching the Truths of the Catholic faith on a weekly basis. I would gladly give up my close parking space and my seat (or just strive to arrive earlier) for that Catholic Church.

Lord grant graces for wisdom and fortitude and magnanimity to those who do not follow tenets of the faith such as the Sunday liturgical obligation. Lead them humbly as pilgrims to be shining beacons of light to the world of your truth. Send angels to help with this cause and Our Lady’s intercession, that all souls may be led to heaven, now and forever. Amen.

Praying for our brothers and sisters throughout the world to find strength and faith to return weekly throughout the year to find the joy of Christ and His Church.

:gopray:

Our Father, Who art in heaven
Hallowed be Thy Name;
Thy kingdom come,
Thy will be done,
on earth as it is in heaven.
Give us this day our daily bread,
and forgive us our trespasses,
as we forgive those who trespass against us;
and lead us not into temptation,
but deliver us from evil.
Amen.

St. Michael the Archangel,
defend us in battle.
Be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the Devil.
May God rebuke him, we humbly pray,
and do thou,
O Prince of the heavenly hosts,
by the power of God,
thrust into hell Satan,
and all the evil spirits,
who prowl about the world
seeking the ruin of souls. Amen…

Maybe that’s why it used to be known as “low” Sunday. Very few in attendance

Seriously, I pray for the folks that are marginal and fallen away to be granted the grace to return to the Church at each mass I attend.

Remember, O most gracious Virgin Mary, that never was it known that anyone who fled to your protection, implored your help, or sought your intercession and was left forsaken. Inspired by this confidence, I fly unto you, O Virgin of virgins, my Mother. To you I come, before you I stand, a sorrowful sinner. Despise not my words, O Mother of the Word, but in your mercy, hear and answer me.
Amen

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with you. Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

**Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Amen.

**Blessed Virgin Mary,
who can worthily repay you with praise
and thanks for having rescued a fallen world
by your generous consent!
Receive our gratitude,
and by your prayers obtain the pardon of our sins.
Take our prayers into the sanctuary of heaven
and enable them to make our peace with God.

Holy Mary, help the miserable,
strengthen the discouraged,
comfort the sorrowful,
pray for your people,
plead for the clergy,
intercede for all women consecrated to God.
May all who venerate you
feel now your help and protection.
Be ready to help us when we pray,
and bring back to us the answers to our prayers.
Make it your continual concern
to pray for the people of God,
for you were blessed by God
and were made worthy to bear the Redeemer of the world,
who lives and reigns forever.

Amen. **

Christmas is coming up. I pray that all Catholics attend Mass every Sunday and not just the special occasions. I pray for all Catholics to be in a state of grace. For these intentions, I pray. Amen.

Dear Lord, please call all C&E Catholics to attend Mass every weekend – and to receive the Sacrament of Reconcilation before receiving the Eucharist. Amen.
