Pray for my niece who is not getting married in the church

As her godfather and uncle, I have tried unsuccessfully to persuade her to reconsider. She is marrying this October, so it’s not an impossibility. However, instead, she is opting for a designer wedding in the Wine Country of California.

She also has asked me to not come because she feels that I am rude to her instead of seriously concerned as her godfather for her spiritual health which I truly am. She is also marrying someone of the Abrahamic faith, not Christian faith.
 
I will pray for your family that God will help all of you work this out.

I am sorry you are having to go through this. I know how you must feel, I have had family members not marry in the church or have left it. I will pray for God to continue to call them, and poor out His everlasting mercy on them.

Lord change the heart and mind of this man’s niece and let her become a loving Catholic prayerful woman. Lord this man’s niece and Goddaughter is not hearing the love in this Uncle’s heart . Let her feel it and embrace it . Lord embrace her and show her that marrying in a Catholic church and showing love to her Uncle is important . Lord fix this situation in your way Father , thank you Father , in the name of Jesus , amen . / John

Praying. God bless you for your efforts to be a responsible Godparent. Too many people just see Godparenting as ceremonial.

May God bless this marriage if it occurs and help your neice to bring her new husband into the Catholic faith. May God grant you and your neice peace and understanding. In Jesus name I pray.
