My priest is going in for surgery he says.

Are there any special prayers for priests who are going into surgery?

I am not aware of what to pray specifically, other than the rosary.

Please post prayers to help, if you can.

Thank you and God bless you.

For your priest, that he comes through the surgery well and recuperates quickly.

O Blood and Water, which gushed forth from the Heart of Jesus as a fountain of Mercy for us, I trust in You!

Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name; Thy kingdom come; Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our trespasses as we forgive those who trespass against us; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil, Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace. The Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou amongst women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death, Amen.

Eternal Father, I offer you the Body and Blood, Soul and Divinity of Your Dearly Beloved Son, Our Lord, Jesus Christ, in atonement for our sins and those of the whole world.

For the sake of His sorrowful Passion, have mercy on us and on the whole world. x10

Holy God, Holy Mighty One, Holy Immortal One, have mercy on us and on the whole world.

May God be with you Father, and with your surgery care team

Saint Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil, may God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do you, O’ Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God thrust into Hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.

Amen.

Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.

Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.

Amen.

Prayer for a Miracle

God of all creation, you who spoke a simple command and brought forth light from
the darkness, I ask you now to send forth your miracle-working power to heal ( Mary15’s priest). You cleansed the lepers, opened the eyes of the blind and by
speaking a simple command, you empowered the crippled to rise up and walk.
You sent forth your life-giving power to all those in need, including those you raised from
the dead. I ask you to send forth your healing power into Mary15’s priest’s body and give him the strength to fight his illness. I ask this through my Lord, Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen

Today (Oct. 18) would be the Feast of St. Luke if not superseded by Sunday.
St. Luke was a physician.
Aleteia had this prayer to St. Luke for people going into surgery.
Most charming and saintly Physician, you were animated by the heavenly Spirit of Love.
In faithfully detailing of the humanity of Jesus, you also showed His divinity and His genuine compassion for all human beings.
Inspire our physicians with your professionalism and with the divine compassion for their patients. Enable them to cure the ills of both body and spirit that afflict so many in our day.
Amen.
Jesus is also the Heavenly Physician as well as the High Priest.
Heavenly Physician, in your name I pray for a good result and quick recovery for this priest having surgery.
Dear Jesus, I know you love your priests with all your priestly heart. Please watch over this priest and his situation especially. Thank you in advance for helping him.
Amen.

Thank you so very much. I think he might be a saint. He sacrifices so much as a regular part of his daily life, working so hard to save so many who are suffering. He is my very best friend I have ever had in my life.

Praying for his surgery care team and also to recover well.

He is the best possible example I have known of how we should all live with the grace of God.

When he told me if he doesn’t make it to pray for him in purgatory it just tore me up.

Once, about 11 months ago, he told me that we all will die and chuckled. He has a great sense of humor.

Good morning, Father. Praying for you today and every day, as a life of prayer is what you have taught me, so now I offer you the morning Angelus:

Most Holy Virgin Mary, Help of Christians,
how sweet it is to come to your feet
imploring your perpetual help.
If earthly mothers cease not to remember their children,
how can you, the most loving of all mothers forget me?
Grant then to me, I implore you,
your perpetual help in all my necessities,
in every sorrow, and especially in all my temptations.
I ask for your unceasing help for all who are now suffering.
Help the weak, cure the sick, convert sinners.
Grant through your intercessions many vocations to the religious life.
Obtain for us, O Mary, Help of Christians,
that having invoked you on earth we may love and eternally thank you in heaven.

Father please by the grace of the Holy Spirit touch and heal this man of God. May he be healed and teach the ways of your will and words. May people in the church find their way back go God. In your name, Jesus amen!

Father told me, “God loves you infinity.”

Tears streaming down my face as I remember all the things Father taught me.

Be not afraid his bishop tells all of us, and love one another.

Just guessing that hes been very ill in order to get surgery among a covid crisis where beds are few and even more rare are extra ventilators for general anesthesia.

I simply don’t know.

But I hear his constant words to me to always focus on: “Trust Him.”

Hes a fan of mystics, so here is what I just sent him:

Let nothing disturb you,
Let nothing frighten you,
All things are passing away:
God never changes.
Patience obtains all things
Whoever has God lacks nothing;
God alone suffices.

~St Avila
