The former Eparch of Newton Bishop John Elya fell asleep in the Lord on July 19th.

I will remember him as a very kind and gentle man who was always loving and warm. He made sure that our little mission got off the ground and kept it afloat in the turbulent early days. I’ll never forget how much he looked like a modern Santa Claus with his bearded smile and red vestments!

May his memory be eternal!

For the sake of His sorrowful Passion, have mercy on us. Lord, hear my prayer for this persons intentions and have mercy on the whole world. (x10)
