Prayer for Protection
adapted from a prayer by Lynn Cooke

Father, we come to You today asking for the protection of K.J. and his family from terrorists and every other evil. Lord, we are assailed moment by moment with images on television and the Internet of frightening terrorist attacks, but K.J. and his family live in a high risk area and must face this threat in person every day. Please surround them with your divine hedge of protection. Encompass them all around with Your strength and Your might. Let all who take refuge in You be glad, let them ever sing for joy. And may You shelter K.J. and his family, and all of us, that those who love Your name may exult in You.

You are our keeper, O Lord, the shade on our right hand. Protect us, especially K.J. and his family, from all evil and keep our souls. Guard our going out and our coming in. From this time and forever. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Holy Mary, please protect K.J. and his family as your special children, under your mantle.
Gracious St. Joseph, protect K.J. and his family from all evil as you did the Holy Family. Kindly keep us all ever united in the love of Christ, ever fervent in imitation of the virtue of our Blessed Lady, your sinless spouse, and always faithful in devotion to you.

Saint Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil, may God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do you, O’ Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God thrust into Hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.
