Peace be with you all, it is my understanding that we are all aware of this month. October is the month for honoring our lovely mother virgin Mary who witnessed the death of her only son. We nailed Jesus on the cross. Mother Mary gave good message to children of Fatima that we must pray Rosary for peace in the world.

People are dying everyday, are we really praying for PEACE? why then killing innocent people including angels(kids) :o

Let all unite together as Catholics to pray Rosary by any means or situation you have.

Praise God

Mary

Amen! October 7 was the feast of Our Lady of the Rosary, but the whole month is indeed dedicated to this particular devotion to her.

If you don’t mind me asking, how do you guys meditate on the Mysteries? I’m always finding myself bored with meditation. I don’t discover anything new (or haven’t in a while). Any tips on what works for you? I’ve tried scriptural Rosaries, but I got bored with those after a while, then I tried placing myslelf in the scene described, but I’m not into that unless I can vividly picture the scene and I mostly pray it at night when my brain needs a break and I can’t visiualize as strongly as I like to…I’m a little stuck.

I guess it can be a bit of a roblem to keep up the interest. I am at the stage where scriptual rosaries are a huge help. My current favorite is THE ROSARY FOR THE HOLY SOULS IN PURGATORY, by Susan Tassone. 👍

The fact that I have a specific purpose, The Church Suffering, may also be of help to me when doing the rosary.:gopray:

I tend to blank out and wait for God to reveal something He wants me to think about. I do this because I noticed it was when I wasn’t actively trying to ‘meditate’ that I would have a kind of revelation that would make me go “Wow, where did that thought come from.”

Then, later I might come across a theological work that says that very thing.

I always try to connect them with something that’s going on in my own life, or in the life of someone that I’m praying for.

For example, today I will pray the Joyful Mysteries for my teen Catechism class. During the Mystery of the Annunciation, I will think of each kid, how wonderful it is that Jesus planned for them from the beginning of the Creation, and wonder whether I have any future Saints in my class. Then, for the Visitation, I will pray for them to be good friends to one another and support each other in their Catholic faith in this world that is so hostile to children who have Christian faith; for the Nativity, I will pray for each of them by name, that Jesus will be born anew in their hearts every day, and that the graces of their Baptism will pour over them during their teenage trials and tribulations. For the Presentation, I will pray for them that others will be edified by their Christian witness in the world, and that any "old Simeon"s and "Anna"s out there somewhere will see the devotion of these kids to their Saviour, and be renewed in their hope for the future; and for the Finding in the Temple, I will pray for them that if they ever “lose” Jesus through a crisis in faith, they will seek Him diligently until they find Him again, and then hang on to His teachings for dear life. 🙂

That’s what works for me.

If I may ask, HOW do you ‘place yourself in a scene’ in the Rosary? Do you try to think and feel with the people in it as well as just visualising them? I always try to BE someone in the scene - different people at different times perhaps - and think and feel with that person.

I imagine I’m a person from that time period watching it all unfold. Sometimes I’m too tired to do it because it’ s kinda mentally draining!
