I agree.The Mass and the Consecration of the Bread and Wine into the Body and Blood of Jesus Christ and the consequent Continuation of the Sacrfice made by Jesus Christ to his father which is the essence of the Mass is the greatest act of Glorification and Prayer.Nothing else should disturb us in our participation with the Priest in associating ourselves in this supreme Offering to Almighty God.

Thanks for telling me. I had no idea you weren’t supposed to do that. I come from a very religious family, and growing up my aunts and grandmothers always prayed the rosary during mass.
 
I pray the rosary at least once every day if I can help it, as of late (new convert).

It is not a peaceful experience for me like others here have posted. Nevertheless I am awed by the experience and I’m going to keep praying it every day, to the best of my ability, with you folks!

Before the Novus Ordo Mass was approved, it is quite common to practice a devotion during the Latin Mass, as it was (and is) mostly a Mass where the participation of the laity was much less.

In the NO Mass, it is more appropriate to participate fully in the celebration of the Eucharist.

try praying it twice a day give it time :). You should ask in your rosary that you will get the peace that most people get from praying the rosary ask our Blessed mother that you will get the grace’s of the rosary and it will come to you soon

I, too, struggled with it for years and when I saw things changing in my life for the good I became convinced of the power of the Rosary. The changes were subtle,soft and gentle, but they affected my peace of mind at work, a change of hearts in my family that is nearly a miracle after 18 yrs, and a change in my heart to a more loving and compassionate approach to my fellow man. I struggle with being very judgemental and things are changing slowly. I do get to Mass during the week as much as possible and a prayer meeting, but the Rosary is the component that helped me see more clearly how to allow the Graces of the Mass to work in my life. Keep Praying and you will see and know the power of God working in your life.The Rosary will draw you more deeply into a loving relationship with Jesus and the entire Trinity. Mary’s only desire is that you love Jesus with all your heart and she accomplishes much thru the praying of the Rosary. After all, that is her continual request in her apparitions-“Pray the Rosary daily”

I have been drawn to the rosary since my new found spiritual path has been laid out to me. I try to pray it daily as much as I can (some days are tougher than others 😦 ) but I do believe I feel better on the days I do. I’m going to try to bring this up to my wife as our Lenten sacrifice to make it a point to pray it daily together (odd, as it should not be viewed as a sacrifice, but a means to a better spiritual life)
Any suggestions of how to bring it up to her in a non-obtrusive way? (she’s a cradle catholic, but not so into it now)

First, ask the Holy Spirit to help you form the right words;also ask both your Guardian angels to help, then propose that you want to grow in your relationship with Jesus and as a married couple it would help you grow closer to pray together. I would suggest that you start with either 1 decade a day and 1 complete Rosary on 1 day with particular concentration on the Sorrowful mysteries. Have a hand out with the directions handy so she can learn the mysteries as well as the Hail Holy Queen and the closing prayer. Use the opportunity to explain that you are wanting to be closer to our Lord and Mary helps us on the way. If she resists at first,back off but make sure she knows you are praying it every day. I learned it because they prayed it at church before every Sunday Mass and i did not understand their devotion to Mary. It took years, but very time I said a Rosary good things happen in my life, my work, my family. Maybe a book of Spiritual Reading for Lent will help. It helps to know to concentrate on the Mysteries as you say the Hail Mary’s–place yourself into the seen and try to see what those witness’ saw or felt. Your knowledge of the Lord’s life will grow and deepen.
“Come Holy Spirit, Come by means of the powerful intercession of your well beloved spouse” you might also try to find the Men of the Sacred Heart and request an enthronement-probably too late for this Lent,but worth a try. The men of our parish that do the Enthronements are booked a year in advance. Every family that has participated in one talks of the profound effects in their lives.

The family that pray’s the rosary will stay together for life. Mary will protect each person who pray’s the rosary. You shall never fear of a separation if you pray the rosary with your wife it will bring you stronger in love with your wife and our Blessed Mother Mary

Keep this forum going!! People MUST learn to understand how strong the rosary can have on anyone’s life. Include the great elegance’s which people will receive by praying the rosary.

We must pray for the dying and especially for the unbelievers. That they do not go to hell.

Thank you everyone. For keeping this forum going…it may have resulted in more people praying the rosary now !!
