Hi everyone, :wave:t2:

I’ve ordered my first set of prayer beads today, 50 rosewood beads with a tassel which should arrive sometime next week.

For many months, even years, I tried to get into the rosary but always found myself unable to really delve into it, to focus and relax. I can say Hail Mary’s all day, but the structure of the rosary halted my ability to focus. After weeks of feeling guilty and pondering over it, I have made the decision to try something new—prayer beads!

Has anyone else made the transition from one prayer “tool” to another? Have you always stayed with the same “tool”?

I look forward to reading your answers! 😀

Rosary all the way. Taught since I was a little girl to pray it. I also say the Divine Mercy and Holy Face chaplet regularly. You can use the rosary for those or use the chaplet made for the purpose. I hope to add Seven Sorrows, St Michael and Precious Blood chaplets soon.

Hello LittleFlower,
I usually use the Rosary but I have used other sets of prayer beads for other chaplets, usually the chaplet of St. Michael on the feasts of the Archangels. I have, however been wanting to get (or make) a chotki prayer rope ever since I did some study into the spirituality of our Orthodox brothers and sisters. Even if I begin to use the chotki, I expect that I won’t transition to it from the Rosary, but rather allow it to find a place within my spirituality alongside my devotion to the Rosary. I would be simply become another facet of my spirituality.

My fingers are my prayer aid! I have rosaries and prayer beads, and a chotki prayer rope too, but I always pray the rosary as I take my daily walk, and I use my fingers to keep track. I will use the rosary beads at home if I’m unable to get out for my walk. For shorter prayer, such as the Jesus Prayer, I try to pray for a set amount of time rather than use the beads or the prayer rope.

I use a wood bead with macrame cord. It feels wonderful in my hands. I’ve only recently, the last two years or so, started praying the rosary. Ifound after a very short time of committing to it that I just really appreciate it when I say it. The meditation by the fourth decade makes me start to think, "Oh, I only have a few minutes left!’ I wish I had really tried to say the rosary when I was young.

i use an app “laudate”. since my phone is always with me so is the app. it has the rosary in several forms and audio. readily available for a quick decade during the day or to listen on the way home. at home i go traditional

i tend more to the divine mercy prayer than the rosary. it is also on laudate.

I was looking for my Chaplet of St. Michael when I found other ones that I had put aside, not remembering that I had those Chaplets in particular. 😳

I also have a Holy Spirit Chaplet that I’m looking for, but I found my St. Michael Chaplet and it wasn’t where I thought that I had put it, so there’s hope for me yet! 😉

I also pray the Rosary, and I also like to pray the Chaplet of the Divine Mercy, too.

So, I guess that you could say that I do like to pray using different Chaplets at different times, as well as the Rosary.
