Prayer for a Catechumen trapped in sin

Please pray for a certain catechumen, aged 30 who is seriously addicted to porno. He spends hours and hours perusing very dirty websites. He covers this by pretending that he is perusing pictures on Tumbler (a social website). I live in the same residence with this catechumen. I asked him how he can be becoming a Catholic and be looking at porno all the time. He is seriously hooked - and can not control his habits. He told me that he prayed about it and that God is taking him as he is, where he is in his life and that God knows that he could be doing far worse in his life tan looking at porn. He said that god is not against porn. He has a lot of personal problems, but he is intelligent, kind and friendly. but he just can’t leave his computer alone at all. I have noticed that he has a very rebellious spirit, is resistant to authority and acts very immature for his age. He has no girlfriend or companion. I feel a lot of compassion for him - I have prayed for him, and yet his condition doesn’t seem to get any better. He is very dishonest about his addiction. Through the carelessness of his father, he was first exposed to pornography at 5 years old and has never stopped looking at it. Can everybody please please pray for him.And for all people trapped by sin. Please pray to break Satan’s hold on him. Thank you.

Praying that your friend realises that what he is doing is very sinful, repents, and gets some help. Praying that his priest can help him (if someone could just tell his priest about his addiction). Amen.
 
I would have told his priest, but I am afraid of overstepping my boundaries, of damaging his character. I’m afraid that he would be mistrusted or ostracized as a result. Is it ethical to reveal something about someone which could be detrimental to him?
