Prayer for children reconciliation, forgiveness and Love’s renewal

We are attending the wedding of a dear friend’s son this weekend. The married daughter of this friend recently made my friend a grandfather. In joy for my friend, I now weep this morning for my children alienated from me. One beloved daughter informed me I was not to be invited to her wedding, nearly three years ago. Another daughter I continue to try to rebuild trust with… A son and I have not spoken in three years. Thank you God for the connection with my remaining son!

It seems my divorced spouse, over a decade separated from, continues to bare false witness against me. That is not unusual; I’ve come to expect it. What I need prayers for is to reunite with the vast Love of Christ that can elevate feeling of loss into hope for reconciliation and the power to continue to forgive

My funny humanness rejoices for my friend’s children, then makes me sad for lost fatherhood of three of mine. Prayer warriors, here, please pray for me. Prodigal father, pray for me. My Lord, Jesus, may I renew my knowledge of Your Father’s Love which sustains me and those You created. Amen.
