Prayer for Discernment

There is the possibility of a Marian apparition happening in my town. I have visited there. Oil is seeping from the walls and through some statues and paintings, and the mother is (apparently) receiving visual and audible visits from the Blessed Virgin daily. It appears to be a very holy and reverent place. People are praying and it is beautiful. I hope some priests visit soon to start the process of discernment. It just started recently.

I am not asking for anything other than for you all to pray for discernment of spiritual activity, and that the process of proper investigation happens, so that if it is true, Praise God, and if it isn’t true, no one is pulled away from proper devotion.

I stand in obedience to the bishop and the magisterium. This is very very new though, so there is no process opened yet. I’m simply asking for prayers for discernment. All I’m doing now, after visiting, is praying praying praying.

Intercede for the needy (of all kinds) in your town and that the faithful will be knit together in the tasks they are called to (sometimes, more than or different than the institutional church has allocated to them). Then whatever or whoever is behind the phenomena will become a fruitful part of your prayer and its answer, or will be irrelevant and distract from the aforementioned goals, according as how genuine it is.

Look at it in an un-religious way.
 
Saint Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil, may God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do you, O’ Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God thrust into Hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.

ALLELUIA! Mary, Mother of God, you do not want praise to yourself, but to your Son. Please let the bishop decide correctly about this phenomenon, that we may grow closer, not just to you, but ultimately, your Son. Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. What a beautiful thing if our Blessed Mother is appearing…but yes, discernment is needed. You have my prayers. Keep us posted. One thing I do know for sure is that our Blessed Mother wants us to pray and make reparation for the sin. We are living in difficult days. But HE is in control- Praise His Holy Name!

Someone (not the family) contacted a news source, and a photo-journalist shows up and interviewed the daughter. She is young and didn’t have the okay of the parents, who aren’t versed in English and North American culture. Needless to say, the paper not only published this, but also the address, this morning. Then a larger paper picked it up. For them, (secular press) its only a curiousity, and the comments about the article have been horrible. I advised a friend of the family who is helping them, to make sure anyone comes to the door doesn’t have a camera, and can recite the Memorae, or at least a Hail Mary. If they can’t, they are simply curiousity seekers, or potentially media (which are phoning now incessantly) and aren’t interested in prayer.
I phoned the publisher and the editor called me back. I stated my case, and he appeared to agree (I am concerned for the family.) But obviously, it fell on deaf ears, because the big newspaper and other news sources went online in the same hour.
At this point, they are waiting on the Bishop to come and investigate. They are loyal to the church and very prayerful. The daughter made a mistake, simply because of her naivety and didn’t understand what the press does with these things. I’m praying that all the negative attention goes away.

I’m going there tonight. Will pray the St. Michael Prayer and the rosary, etc there. And praying for the attention to die down. (So far the attention has been typically secular horribleness) Which is so sad for these middle eastern people who only suffered anti-Christian sentiment in their own country and now have it here.

Blessed Mother, you know the truth, and you certainly know your people. If this is of God, and of you, may God’s will be done in all of this. In any case, please, protect those who love you and bring those who will pray, or need conversion.
We pray for the people of Iraq and Syria. We pray for the children. We pray for the families spread throughout the world who are experiencing persecution.
