****On Good Friday, when our Lord was crucified by those who opposed him, I think it may be the best time to add this prayer to all our other observances –
Jesus - Prince of Peace, King of endless glory - You commanded us “love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.” With ever more increasing joy, we keep Your commandments in our hearts and strive to live by Your example.
We pray, O Lord, for our enemies - known and unknown - and for those who persecute us. May the Holy Spirit come into their hearts and grant them peace and wisdom. We pray also that, with Your help, we continue to love our enemies, always.
We pray also that all people throughout the world learn to work together for justice and peace.
Looking beyond this world and our own lives, and rejoicing in the life of the world to come, we thank You for all the blessings and graces You grant us every moment.
Glory and honor are Yours and Yours alone O Lord, now and forever. AMEN.
