I received this email today:

I just received this message and I am asking you to send up prayers
please.
A young couple in our church, the husband is in Iraq and due to be sent
back
to the states in three weeks. He called his wife this morning at 9:30
am
(our time) to say goodbye to her and their children (they have a 2 yr
old
and a ten month old). He and his group will be leaving at 4 pm today
(our
time) on foot to go into Baghdad …no vehicles or tanks will be taken.
Their mission will last 2 or 3 days and the purpose is to go door to
door
and capture all snipers in the city. The commanders have told the men
what a
dangerous mission this is and it is very likely that most will not come
back
to their base. His wife is terrified and called on everyone in our
church to
pray. She said the men are also fearful. They were all told to call
their
families before they leave.

I’m asking each of you to pray for these men and women for the next 3
days.
If your church has a prayer chain, PLEASE call and ask them to pray.

Godspeed to all on this mission

:gopray2: I pray nightly for the safe return of all of our military and for their families

I will pray too.

There are many fathers in service in Iraq.

I am a retired Navy wife. I will offer this up in the Rosary today at mass.

**I pray daily for All Our Military, I will Prayer for these brave soldiers!:gopray2: **

I remember the military in my prayers every day. I will remember his man and his family with special prayers.

Dear Brothers & Sisters:

Several members of St. Mary’s, and others I know, are now in the Iraq Area of Operations or are fighting terrorists in other countries around the globe (one is the special forces, and his assignment is classified). so, We have to pray for all of them at all of our services.

“When you go out to war against your enemies,… you shall not be afraid of them, for the LORD your God is with you, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt. And when you draw near to the battle, the priest shall come forward and speak to the people and shall say to them, ‘Hear, O Israel, today you are drawing near for battle against your enemies: let not your heart faint. Do not fear or panic or be in dread of them, for the LORD your God is he who goes with you to fight for you against your enemies, to give you the victory.’…” Deut 20:1-4 ESV

O LORD of Hosts, stretch forth, we pray thee, thine almighty arm to strngthen and protect the soldiers, and marines, of our country. Support them in the day of battle, and in the time of peace keep them safe from all evil; endue them with courage and loyalty; and grant that in all things they may serve without reproach; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen
BCP 1928 - Pg. 41

May the Lord and His Holy Angels surround and protect all those we send to protect our nation and freedoms during this War against Islamist Extremism, and may those who are in the darkness of Islam see the light of the Gospel and be converted to our Lord Jesus Christ.

Your Brother in Christ, Michael

I pray everyday for our boys. And did y’all know that we should wear something red on Fridays? Wear red 'til our boys come home!

I am praying for all the men and women serving our country in Iraq, especially for those who are CAF forum members. May God keep you safe. :gopray2:

We need to pray for their safety and for people in this country understand the importance of what they are doing and allowing the military to finish their job. My son is due back from Iraq on Sunday night - he will probably be in for about 6 months before going again for 4 months. His wife is scheduled to deploy next spring - if she does she will be gone for at least 15 months - she is seriously considering getting out of the Army with 5 years left to retire - he is Air Force. She has been there before but they were not married then and he has a 3 year old that she loves such much that she doesn’t want to leave him for that long. She just came back from her 2 weeks and he was so happy to see her and, of course, he can’t wait for Sunday to come so he can see his Dad. :signofcross: :signofcross:

Prayers for all our military men and women who do so much for our country and many others around the globe. May they all be safe and secure and return home soon.

I just got back from my second tour in Iraq in the last two weeks–I was there last year as well. I will and do pray daily for my fellow Brothers and Sisters in harms way. Only those who have served in the horrors of combat will understand the emotions one goes through. Even the strongest of us, are affected in ways that we still don’t realize. Knowing you have people praying for you helps
tremondously. Many of us have had to do things or witness carnage that we will never be able to share—it’s between us and God. I will pray for all these warriors, and especially his family.
Family is what keeps your mind right…something to come back to–that’s what kept my mind right knowing I would come back to my family.
