Dear Brothers and Sisters,

This is from the Liturgy of the Hours, Morning Prayer for the Memorial of Our Lady of Sorrows:
Father, as Your Son was raised on the cross, His mother Mary, stood by Him, sharing His sufferings. May Your Church be united with Christ in His suffering and death and so come to share His rising to a new life, where He lives and reigns with You and the Holy Spirit, one God, for ever and ever. Amen.
Mary, Mother of the Church, pray with us, and for us.

Saint Michael, the archangel, defend us in battle, be our defense against the wickedness and snares of the devil, may God rebuke him, we humbly pray. And do you, O’ Prince of the Heavenly host, by the power of God thrust into Hell Satan and all the other evil spirits who prowl about the world for the ruin of souls.

Amen.

Our Father who art in Heaven, hallowed be thy name.

Thy kingdom come, thy will be done on Earth as it is in Heaven.

Give us this day our daily bread.

And forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us.

And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Amen.

Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee.

Blessed are you among women, and blessed is the fruit of your womb Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death.

Amen.

Dear Rocket and wild thing,

Thanks you both for replying with your “Amen”. Today is Saturday – “Mary’s day” for those who are especially devoted to her – as it has been in the Catholic Church for centuries. Please, by God’s Grace, let us offer her much love every day, but especially on this day when we remember how the day after his death, Mary waited in silence, with ever growing Faith, Hope and Above al Charity, for her Risen Son to come as He Promised.

One day He will come to take us home, and so by His Grace, we wait also – sharing in our Mother’s Faith, Hope and Charity, with lamps of our hearts burning and ready to welcome Him.
