Prayer request for a girl planning to commit suicide

I would like to pray for my friend. She’s literally on the verge of committing suicide over ptsd from a car accident. I hope that her parents do something about it. There’s always a risk of her attempting suicide. She honestly doesn’t want to talk to anyone right now. She hates the police too so I can’t call the police on her. Her mom said that she was OK today but that might change.

How old is your friend, and are her parents aware of what’s going on? I don’t know her situation so I can’t give you advice as to whether or not she’s legitimately a threat to herself, but if she has given you any indication that she wants to take her own life you can absolutely call the police whether or not she likes them. I’m a police officer, and we’re used to being hated. It comes with the job. Nevertheless, we’re trained to evaluate whether or not someone is really a threat, and have access to the appropriate professionals when we are not able to make the assessment ourselves.

Another option, if available in your area, is a mobile crisis service. They will go out to your friend’s home to evaluate her and determine if she really intends to hurt herself. If they determine that she’s not suicidal, they can provide her with resources to help manage her situation. Have you conveyed your concerns to her parents?

OK. Again, if you truly feel and have reason to believe that she is a threat to herself, don’t be afraid to call the police or a crisis service on her behalf, or suggest that her parents do it.
