Prayer request for my DH

I have been praying for my husband, Chris, but I think his situation requires more than just my prayers and sacrifices. Could anyone spare a few prayers for him? He seems to be faltering in his faith.

Even though he attends Sunday Mass with me, he used to attend daily Mass. He says he can’t seem to get up and go. He seems depressed and he can’t seem to articulate the problem. I suspect it’s because we are beginning to build up a great deal of debt and we’re having trouble paying the mortgage because I had to stop working after our son was born last June. I have been looking for a stay-at-home job, but haven’t found one yet.

Meanwhile, he is cranky and depressed. He doesn’t pray as much as he used to with me. I try to gently encourage him to pray but he is half-hearted. He complains about the church where we attend. He has also defended the Golden Compass as merely entertainment (This is what really scares me about him losing his faith.)

I know that in his heart he is still a good Catholic. He has simply hit a bad spot. I am asking for prayers to help him get over this. I’m just so worried about him. Please could you add him to your already bulging lists? Thank you so much.

Praying for Chris at this really trying time in his life…
 
We ask you dear Lord to see this brother of ours and minister to him as You would see fit. Stretch his confidence to bring him into action. Help him to continue to seek Your face. Help him to be busy and not idle. Hold up this family, this fortress of love, this domestic church as you would the greater Church. Angels bring our brother reason for hope and laughter, and hold him up this day and each day so that he may continue with his journey.

We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Finances can be an enormous source of stress…I will keep you both in my prayers. Prayers that he will give his anxiety to the Lord. God bless.

I am eternally grateful to all of you and I keep you and your intentions in my thoughts and prayers as well.
 
**Father, you alone know the hearts
of Chris and Helen. You alone know
their needs. We beg of you to give
Chris the strength he needs to increase
his faith.

We ask you to provide Helen with a
source of income. Financial problems
are so hard on any family. Guide her to
the place of employment that is befitting
for your will to be done. Provide a perfect
caretaker for their small child.

We ask all of this in the name of
Jesus Christ our Lord.
