prayer request

My godson is starting to attend buddhsim spiritual classes. Not wanting to sound offensive, I told him to go with open mind, just listen.

On asking him wether he still want to go to Sunday mass. he say not naymore. Told me he did not feel anything at all…but chanting buddhist prayers bring him to tears as if being touched.

I’ve advised him to be patient and take up the cross as being christian is not easy. Maybe this a cross for him to bear…

I feel for you. My priest once told me that if kind words don’t help, just pray pray pray for him.

Oftentimes those that leave the Church for other religions begin to change their feelings which may happen in the case youv’e described. Patience and Prayer.

What does he like about buddhist prayers? Specifically? Maybe there’s a Catholic prayer he would enjoy. If he’s attracted to just eastern spirituality in general maybe information about the Just War Doctrine and Monostaries and Gregorian Chant may enourage him.( I thought buddhists didn’t believe in any god. Who do they pray to? )

Either way, I will pray for him.
