Prayer to prevent earthquakes

Hi all

I’m afraid a eathquake might hit my country because it’s said by specialists that sooner or later there will be a huge one here I know St Francis Borgia is the Patron saint against earthquakes but I can’t find a specific prayer for him to prevent them from happening! Do you know a prayer for that?

There is a very nice votive Collect for in time of earthquake, but the best one for the prevention of earthquakes would be a rosary appealing for protection.

Even those who have survived the Christchurch earthquake…there are those who have lost everything and those who were only a little inconvenienced.

I am always alarmed when I hear the oncoming rumble of an earthquake, I try to be prepared spiritually for the realisation that your life can be changed in a twinkling of an eye.

You can pray to St Francis Borgia or any saint or Our Lady in any words you like. The formal wording of a prayer is no guarantee that our request will be answered. We pray that saints and Out Lady intercede to Jesus for us; they can’t grant requests on their own power. We must always pray if it be God’s will and for the good of our salvation that our request be granted.

In such situation one must pray intensively. God will help him or her to accept His will.

the Divine Mercy chaplet? I think St Faustina used it to prevent natural disasters from hitting her country (Poland) ask her to pray as well…
