It is today that the black mass will be held. Some people I know don’t have a clue as to what a black mass is. One lady doesn’t believe in the devil. She says he is just a symbol of evil. She is a recent convert, but does not believe that a devil can possess a person. She just thinks the person in question is mentally ill.
Theistic Satanists, however, do believe in the devil. Why they want such evil in their lives is beyond me. If people don’t know about the black mass taking place, and/or they don’t think there is a real devil, it causes me to wonder, what gives.
Yeah I think the presence of the modern Satanists, like the Satanic Temple or Church of Satan, who are really just humanists and atheists using Satanic imagery to mock Christians in particular, have really muddied the waters as it relates to Satanism as a whole. There are still Theistic Satanists (traditional Satanists if you will), out there. This Black mass group is one such group. They do believe in Satan as Christians would understand Satan. And they do in fact worship him. I mean their creed contains the following disturbing declarations,
“I declare myself a Mainyu-Devotee, a supporter of the Devil’s Prophet.”
“I renounce the pious and the righteous enslavement, and vow to damage and plunder their spiritual Settlements.”
“I want freedom from enslavement and stifling religious law. … I vow this: I shall continue to damage and plunder the righteous spiritual settlements, even at risk of life and limb.”
“I work with the Daevas as equals, the wicked, evil, lawless, evil knowing, the most Druj-like of beings, the foulest of beings, the most damaging of beings. I am in collusion with the Daevas and their comrades, I am in collusion with the Dews and their comrades, I am in collusion with them through my evil thoughts, evil words and evil deeds. I am in collusion with them publicly.”
