Hi All,

Am just wondering what android app you use for prayers and novenas. Recently on another thread someone mentioned The Holy 14 they’d started praying. By googling this I found the Pray Catholic Novenas app on google play.

Previous topics searched within this subforum produced three results - one app called Sincere Prayer, one for the Bible and another for an app called I Got Jesus Prayer.

As I am interested in what other apps are available, what do you use and how would you rate it? I already have Laudate, iBreviary, and iPieta.

For personal reasons, I won’t be able to reply for some time, but will as soon as I am able to.

Thank you All.

Not on Android, but I’ve found Laudate and iBreviary pretty much have me covered - otherwise I Google prayers and add them to Laudate in the “My Prayers” section. I also use DivineOffice, but it’s no longer available to new users, sadly (due to some copyright issues).

I also have a few Bible apps and other websites bookmarked.

Thank you @Cor_ad_Cor for replying and especially for the info regarding adding prayers to Laudate as I wasn’t aware that could be done.

An update on the DivineOffice folks: I was just over at their site, and it looks like there are some exceptions for new members if you have certain affiliations or disabilities (not sure how they’re making the determinations). I really do like their stuff, if you can get it.

And, they’ve released a couple of new apps - at least on the Apple store. One is a collection of prayers (I just downloaded and haven’t had a chance to review) and the other is the Catholic Encyclopedia.

Also, a little off track from your original ask, but I like the YouVersion Bible app, too. It has multiple Catholic (and non-Catholic) versions available as well as helpful study tools, you can build a little study community, and their reading plans are pretty good, despite being 90% Protestant material. (They’re more of the neutral, any denomination could use this kind of thing so as to gain a wider following.)

thank you @Cor_ad_Cor - I’ll look into this, so thank you for the update 😃
Some years ago I did buy the Youcat version of the catechism, but was unaware of the YouVersion Bible app - another for me to investigate.

Thank you for your suggestions, you’ve been most helpful.

Thank you upant! That’s a great website isn’t it? I signed up to it a long time ago as I rely on their email daily reminders during novenas to remind me of where I am at ie what number day I’m up to, to give me the heads up about upcoming novenas etc.

Yes, I am looking for an app that has more prayers/novenas than the standard fare - reading about The Holy 14 - had to look that one up - which then started me searching for other apps.

But still, I thankyou for your effort to be helpful. 🙂
