Please pray for 3 sisters (in their 20’s). The oldest is crippled due to a congenital birth defect; the middle girl is now a young mom; the youngest is as yet unmarried and is having trouble finding employment that lasts more than a few months.
I’m concerned because the 2 youngest were children of a man who had multiple mental and emotional illnesses, as well as some serious character disorders (criminal behaviour, the inability to take “no” for an answer among many others, refusal to respect other people’s property as THEIRS and not his and his children’s), and he suffered from delusions.
The oldest sister was just under 2 when her mom met this man (she had been “messing around with” drugs before her 1st daughter’s birth, and her mom then married the man I just described and had 2 children with him. All 3 girls were raised by him and his parenting skills were frighteningly inadequate. He used to tell the crippled girl that she was special because God had “marked her” with his hand and her crippled condition was His sign of this. No one was allowed to say no to her, and all were expected to do whatever she wanted since she was “a special envoy from God”. You get the drift.
Long story short: All 3 girls now are young adults living on their own and need prayer that they will be freed from his delusions and faulty parenting. I think that the middle child also is showing signs of one of his mental illnesses - her boyfriend gets their son up in the morning to change him and feed him before he gets himself off to work. She stays in bed until she feels like getting up, which means that she leaves their child entirely alone and unattended in his crib for at least 2 hours every morning. He is soon to be 1 year old. She also has left him with her mother and grandparents on 4 separate occasions so that she “could rest”.
The oldest child believes that she is the peer of her elders, she lies through her teeth to get what she wants, then laughs at her helpers behind their back. Most of her “skills” at achieving her goals in these ways were taught to her by her father. I’ve no doubt that they were all taught these things. She also looks down her nose at how “proper” her grandfather was - he left all 3 of his grandchildren $50,000 when he died. She has no sense of gratitude to him for his love of all of them, nor for his loving care of them, but she sure likes having the money.
Their father has died, but they all are VERY much like him, and he was no more than a child himself in so many ways. I worry about them, and ask for prayers that they accept Christ as their Saviour and that they will convert to the Catholic Church.
